Have you ever wondered if there were any apps for eating disorder recovery out there? Well, wonder no more because there are!
The 5 apps I’ve reviewed in this post are: 1) FREE! 2) Helpful to document your food, feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and more.
Two of them (possibly 3) are specifically for eating disorders, but the others are helpful too.

My Review
Oh my goodness, this app is by far my favorite! It makes you think about how you’re feeling about food. I love the meal reminders too in case I forget a meal or wait too long to eat, which usually leads to a binge.
This app has so much to offer. In my opinion, anyone with an eating disorder, or disordered eating behaviors, should try this app!

5. Woebot
Ratings
- Apple: 4.7 stars
- Android: 4.6 stars
Overview
Woebot is your “self-care expert” built by a group of psychologists who worked at Stanford University for over 10 years. They left their jobs on a mission to make mental healthcare more accessible worldwide. (That’s a pretty awesome reason to start an app, in my opinion!)
A study showed that after just 2 weeks of using this app daily, the study participants felt “significantly better” than those in the group not using the app.
According to their website, “CBT (cognitive-based therapy) delivered via the Internet (and even video games!) can be as effective as therapist-delivered CBT for both anxiety and depression.”
Woe! Who knew? 😉
Highlights
- Winner of the 2019 Google Play Award for Standout Well-being App
- Mood tracking over time
- Step-by-step guidance
- Help with everyday problems such as:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Stress
- Loneliness
- Grief
- Addiction
- Pain management
- Daily check-ins
- Available 24/7 to chat
My Review
I like this app because it’s like texting a therapist (or a really smart friend) at any time, day or night. You can message Woebot as much or as little as you need. It makes you feel like you’re not alone in this fight.
